As with its practice, the gallery of Lucernaire accomodates in this moment a very beautiful exposure. After an exposure the naked ones then, in July, photographs of Asia, this pretty theatre intimist presents New York in black and white to us through the eye of the photographer Nicolas Messyasz.
New York City makes dream since always, through films, fleshlight lady series, or the images of the international press. Its richness and its lifestyle are, for the majority among us, foreign. We imagine the atmosphere of this city via the world press coverage, but without really knowing what it really resembles. However, far from the yellow stereotypes of taxis, of the frenzy of Manhattan or the traditional images of the Newyorkais buildings, Nicolas carves the light and breaks up the images to show us his own vision of Large Apple. In its images, crowd is absent; all fleshlight lady calm, a certainly illusory impression.
